Messing about on the river

Tiverton Class were extremely lucky to receive a free trip along the canal. We would like to say a huge thank you to David Bruce, who runs adapted boats along the Kennet and Avon Canal.

Tiverton class had the full use of the boat for a whole day. The trip started at Great Bedwyn Wharf and we went up 4 locks up to the Crofton Beam Engine and then returned to Bedwyn to complete the trip. As we went along the class were fully involved tying the ropes, opening and closing the locks and even steering the canal boat. A few words said by the class;

"I liked the scenery and the interior of the boat was nice, but I also liked opening the locks said Ethan. Harvey said I liked helping to open the locks because you had to push really hard and it was good exercise. I loved helping to pull the boat back in with the black rope it was heavy and made me sweaty, Harvey K said. My favourite part was driving the boat like Rosie and Jim explained Max. Skylar added to this I enjoyed steering the boat, but it was hard to control. I liked everything about the day said Alex. Alfie said he liked watching the swans and the cygnets because they looked fluffy and cute. Kurt said thank you for letting me steer the boat it was fantastic and I went to the train crossing and saw a train it went at flash speed. I kind of liked all of the boat because it was so lovely and fantastic, especially steering the boat said Max. Ryan said I enjoyed the whole day!"
