Face Covering guidance from Monday 9th November 2020

Dear Parents and Carers,

As you may be aware, following the announcement of the current further restrictions, the government released further guidance for schools on Wednesday evening. One of the key areas was around face coverings in schools. In order to ensure that everyone is as safe as possible and that we are following government advice, we will be using the following protocols from Monday:

Primary house (Red Bubble)

  • Staff will wear face coverings at all times when in corridors or communal areas, except when sat to eat and drink.
  • When outside in fresh air, there will not be any requirement to wear a face covering.
  • Pupils do not have to wear face coverings in Red Bubble.

Secondary House (Green and Blue Bubble) and Post-16 (Orange Bubble) the following will apply:

  • Pupils (Except for pupils in Balmoral and Skipton as they are primary): Those who are able to do so should wear face coverings when in corridors or any internal communal areas. Please can you provide a face covering that your child can wear. However, if you believe that your child cannot wear a face covering then please let the class teacher know. This will not be an issue.
  • Staff (including those in Balmoral and Skipton) should wear face coverings at all times when in corridors or communal areas, except when sat to eat and drink.
  • When outside in fresh air, there will not be any requirement to wear a face covering.

Please can parents and carers continue to wear a face covering at drop off and pick up times as you have been doing.

If you have any questions please do let your class team know or contact me.

Many thanks,

Jon Hewitt
