Covid-19 Safety Measures Update 1.10.21

Dear Parents and Carers,

In my email 2 weeks ago, I explained that we were putting into place some extra measures to try and ensure that our school remains a safe place. I said that I would review these measures on 30th September, which I have now done.

There has been a marked reduction in positive cases in school, which is very pleasing. However, I do not believe that we are out of the woods yet, so we will keep these measure in place for another 2 weeks and review then again on 14th October. I do not believe that the measures have a hugely negative impact on pupil learning, but have a highly protective effect, reducing potential transmission of any virus around the school.

As a reminder, the measures are:

  • Masks - Staff will be wearing face coverings, if they are able, when in corridors or communal areas, except when sat to eat and drink or during a planned activity that has been agreed by the Team Leader or SLT. No face coverings are needed when outside of buildings. Please note that pupils do not have to wear face coverings whilst in school. However, they can wear them if they wish.
  • Restricted movement around school - In order to stop the risk of any virus spreading from one area of the school to another we are going to restrict movement by staff and pupils around school. I am hopeful that pupils will not notice much difference, although some activities where pupils from different areas of school mixed will not be able to take place for the time being.

As always, my primary duty is the health and wellbeing of pupils and staff and will always act to ensure that this is the case.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Many thanks,
