Training

The Castle School offers continuing professional development training sessions on the following topics: 

• P levels and moderation
• Writing individual education plans
• Behaviour management
• Makaton (signing)
• PECs (Picture Exchange Communication)
• Understanding Autistic Spectrum Disorder
• Working with children with Down’s Syndrome
• Numicon

All the above are available as twilight/inset day sessions for local schools free of charge.

These courses can be accessed online after an initial brief enrolment session with a member of the Castle School staff who will become your online tutor for the duration of the course. Most candidates take approximately 6 hours to complete each course. The cost to staff from non-partner schools is £60.00 per course.
