We have a wide range of facilities at the school to cope with the various levels of disability we experience. Don't take our word for it...........have a look at the picture gallery!
PLEASE TAKE A LOOK AT OUR NEW GALLERY BELOW FOR THE NEW POST 16 UNIT AT NEWBURY COLLEGE, which opened to the students on Tuesday 3rd May 2011
- All classes have access to computers (laptops), an interactive whiteboard or mobile interactive Plasma screen
- Sensory rooms to provide a calm and stimulating environment
- A Sensory garden overlooked by our sensory seashell owl (Hoot Hoot)
- A Hydrotherapy pool heated to 34C (93F) for physio, exercise and a stimulating light and sound experience. An electronic hoist helps with the handling of pupils.
- Three safe play areas for the different needs and ages.
- Breakout areas to provide a safe and calm environment when pupils need a little space.
- Wheelchair swing and roundabout, 3 sand-pits and a "learn to ride" area.
- Dependent toilets, private changing facilities, boys and girls showers and, in some cases, toilets adjacent to classrooms.
- Outdoor classrooms, an outdoor musical area specifically for Autism but used by all!
- A lovely green playing field with a Adventure trail, tyre park and steps.
- A quadrangle garden and greenhouse for the horticultural lunch club, for a quiet area to sit in during balmy summer months, for a range of visiting birds.
